"Will the Shape Turn Out Well?" —
The Question I Hear Most
There is one question that comes up more often than almost any other in gynecomastia consultations.
"If I have the surgery, will the shape turn out well?"

Preserving a natural chest contour matters just as much as removing the tissue itself. That is why, for so many patients, the "shape" of the result weighs most heavily on their minds.
Today I would like to share the story of one patient whose biggest worry was exactly that shape.
His biggest worry was the shape
Before surgery, what worried him most was whether the shape would turn out well.
The essence of gynecomastia surgery is not simply removing a lump of tissue. Leaving a natural contour after removal, keeping both sides balanced, and minimizing scarring — all of it comes as one package. I completely understand the worry of trying to picture in advance how that result will look.
A first visit that flowed without a hitch
When I asked how he felt on his first visit to the clinic, two things came to his mind.
"The staff were friendly, and everything moved along smoothly."
The first thing a new patient encounters is not the surgery — it is the process. When check-in, consultation, and testing flow seamlessly from one step to the next, that alone puts the mind at ease. A smooth experience is never an accident; it comes from a system refined through constant repetition.
A surgery that passed quietly
When asked whether any moment during the surgery particularly stood out, his answer was brief.
It may sound surprising, but I take that answer as a good thing. It means nothing caught him off guard, nothing strayed far from what he expected. A surgery that passes quietly, without incident, may well be the best kind of surgery there is.
"I want to train hard"
When I asked what he wanted to do first after surgery, this was his answer.
He wanted to finally work out with an easy mind — something his chest had kept him from doing with confidence. Once recovery settles in, the daily life you had been shrinking away from opens back up along with it.
When asked whether he had anything to say to others facing the same struggle, he answered this way.
"If you're on the fence, I truly recommend going through with it."
That was the parting recommendation from the man who had worried most about the shape. Trueman Gangnam will be there with you for that first step.
