When the Explanation Is Kind,
the Decision Comes Easier
On the road to deciding on surgery, what do patients want most from their doctor?
Not flashy explanations, and not grand promises. Simply having your condition explained in a way you can understand — that one thing moves the heart most.

Today, borrowing the short but clear review of a recent patient, I would like to write about the work of explaining.
A Hard Subject to Bring Up
The chest is a part of the body that is hard to show anyone. Just crossing the threshold of that first consultation takes real resolve.
The longer someone has struggled with gynecomastia, the longer it took them to finally sit down in the consultation room. We understand the weight of that.
"Thank You for the Kind Consultation"
When asked what stood out about his first visit to the clinic, his answer came down to a single sentence.
"Thank you for consulting with me so kindly."
It is short, but it is the sentence we most want to hear. It is also why Trueman Gangnam maintains an all-male staff — so that concerns that are hard to bring up can be spoken about comfortably.
Explaining So You Truly Understand
When we asked about the most memorable moment during surgery, he again said he was "grateful the doctor explained everything so kindly."
"I was grateful my doctor explained everything so kindly"
Surgery is not a matter of technique alone. It should proceed only once the patient understands what is being done, why, and how. Explaining it clearly is part of our job.
"I Recommend It"
Asked what he would say to others with the same concern, he answered without hesitation.
Sometimes that one line says more than the longest review. A decision made with full understanding is both light and solid.
If you are still weighing it, we suggest starting with a consultation. The decision can come after. Trueman Gangnam will be with you through that process.
