"I Was Afraid It Would Hurt": The Weight Behind Those Words
Truman Customer Story Column
"I Was Afraid It Would Hurt"
The Weight Behind Those Words
- Incheon Branch -
The word that consumes the most time on the way to deciding on surgery is a single one: 'pain.'
"I was afraid it would hurt"
The first line of this review was the same.
"I was afraid it would hurt. But it hurt less than I expected, and I was comfortable."
Those two lines say practically everything. Pain is where the gap between before and after the decision opens widest. With a standardized anesthesia protocol, post-operative pain management, and Trueman's own compression garment supporting the recovery period, the time a patient must consciously endure all but disappears.
"Everyone was so kind that I felt at ease"
His answer about his first impression of the clinic.
"When I arrived, everyone was so kind that I felt at ease."
More than the atmosphere of the operating room, it is the feel of the space and the people before it that most shapes the decision. A flow of care in which the moment you must lift your shirt follows naturally; a manner that adds no extra burden at the very moment you first voice a concern about your chest — all of that comes back to us in the single word 'comfortable.'
"They told me it was already done"
His answer when asked about the most memorable moment during surgery.
"They told me it was already done."
It means the gap between the last sensation before anesthesia and the first sensation in the recovery room felt, to the patient, like a single breath. That is the most ideal answer. The surgery itself leaving no strong impression on the patient — that is the first condition of a good surgery.
"Going out without a jacket, nice and cool"
His answer when asked about the first thing he wants to do after surgery.
"Going out nice and cool, without an outer layer."
If you have spent long summers hiding behind an extra shirt or a cardigan year after year, you know the weight of that one line.
"Definitely do it"
The one thing he left for others carrying the same concern.
"Definitely do it."
And the words he added at the end — "Thank you for taking such good care of me" —
are, to us, the greatest reward of all.
So that you can enjoy the complete freedom you have longed to reclaim,
our Incheon branch will uphold that standard with care and skill at every moment.
