"Seeing How Different I Looked"

There was someone who left blank the box for pre-surgery worries in the review survey. Instead, the answers begin from the box about after surgery.

"I was so happy to see how different I looked after surgery."

When Is a Good Time to Look

Once the surgery is over, people want to stand in front of the mirror. But the shape at that point is not the final shape. Early on, swelling remains so it feels firm to the touch, and there is also a phase when one side looks larger. While you wear the compression garment, pressure marks remain even after you take it off.

It takes several months for the shape to settle. The period in which the wound heals, the period in which swelling subsides, and the period in which the tissue settles pass one after another, and keeping the scheduled appointments in between affects the result. Judging in the middle of recovery usually makes it look worse than it actually is.

That is why right after surgery we go over the removed tissue together. Having seen with your own eyes how much was removed makes the period while swelling remains easier to get through.

Words That They Were Treated Warmly

About when they first came to the clinic, they wrote that it was good that the staff treated them kindly and warmly. Gynecomastia is usually a concern people have never raised with anyone. It is also an examination where you have to lift your shirt right at the first visit. The reason the Incheon branch has all-male staff and a separate waiting path is to reduce the burden of that moment. Only when those conditions are in place do people ask what they had wanted to ask. Once you leave the consultation room it becomes harder to ask, so I tend to give long explanations.

The Pool

In the box asking what they wanted to do after surgery, they answered this.

"I want to have fun at the pool with peace of mind."

Places where you have to take off your top are where people with gynecomastia have long stayed away. The time to go into the water is set for after the wound has fully healed. Water in public facilities is not good for wounds. It is not something to schedule right after surgery, and we will advise you after looking at the state of the wound at your appointment.

Hesitating Only Prolongs the Discomfort

To those with the same concern, they left one sentence.

"Hesitating only keeps the discomfort going."

These are the words of someone who has been through it. Whether you are in a condition that needs surgery is something to decide after checking at an examination, and that check can be done first, separately from the decision.

For someone who left the first box blank, this sentence filled the last.
