The Moment They Secured My Hands,
and Then I Was Asleep

If you had to pick the most nerve-racking moment on the operating table, it would be that brief stretch when your arms and hands are secured in place.

Everyone feels their chest tighten in that moment. But making sure that tension doesn't last long is also part of our job. Today we share the story of one patient who wrote about that very moment with complete honesty.

What Worried Him Most

Side effects weighed on his mind the most

What this patient deliberated over most before surgery was side effects.

What if something goes wrong? Almost everyone pauses at that same point. That is why we explain the possibility of side effects, and how they are managed, without holding anything back.

The moment a vague fear becomes concrete knowledge, the decision becomes far easier.

First Impressions

A kind explanation that opened his heart

On his first visit, what he remembered was the warmth of the welcome.

“They explained everything so kindly — it really put me at ease.”

Chest concerns are hard to bring up, which is why the tone of that first explanation matters so much. Listening fully and explaining kindly — we take care to get that first step right, every single time.

During Surgery

A flicker of fear as his hands were secured — and then sleep

When we asked about the most memorable moment during surgery, he answered honestly.

He felt a moment of fear as his hands were being secured, but he fell asleep almost right away and was fine

Once that brief moment of tension passes, the surgery is completed while you sleep comfortably under sleep anesthesia. Everything finished by the time you wake up — that comfort, too, is part of what we prepare.

After Surgery

“Fitted clothes, worn in comfort at last”

When we asked what he wanted to do first after surgery, the answer was clear.

“I want to wear fitted clothes, like a snug T-shirt.”

He meant finally feeling at ease in the clothes he had been avoiding because of his chest line. For those facing the same concern, he added, “The sooner the better — don't hesitate too long.”

The longer you hesitate, the smaller your wardrobe becomes. Opening it back up again is something Trueman Incheon will do with you.
