What We Say in the Consultation Room

“Feel free to look at
other clinics too”

Why We Tell Patients to Look at Other Clinics

There are times in the consultation room when we tell a patient, “Feel free to look at other clinics as well.”

Because we believe this is medicine, not salesmanship. The decision you make after comparing thoroughly and understanding fully is the one you will regret least. Today I am borrowing the story of a patient who went through exactly that process.

Swelling, Pain, and the Outcome

What worried him most were post-operative swelling and pain, and the outcome of the surgery, including scarring.

But once he went through it, side effects like pain or sudden discomfort turned out to be milder than expected — and even at just four weeks after surgery, he told us he was very satisfied with the result.

Recovery completes itself slowly, over time. Hearing that the early changes alone already satisfied him sounds like a very good sign for the progress ahead.

The Honesty of “Look Elsewhere Too”

We asked what stayed with him most from his first visit to the clinic.

“The consultant was incredibly kind, and what I appreciated most was that instead of pushing the surgery, they honestly told me to look at other clinics as well.”

We believe that guidance which never rushes a decision comes back to us as deeper trust. What a patient needs is not persuasion, but information that helps them judge for themselves.

When You Can Feel Confidence in the Outcome

When we asked about a memorable moment during the surgery, the first thing he mentioned was his surgeon's expertise.

“Throughout the consultation and the surgery, I could sense real professional skill, and the confidence in the outcome came through — it put me at ease.”

Just as important as skill is conveying that skill in a way the patient can trust. I believe confidence is communicated not through words, but through attitude.

“Lighter Clothes for the Summer”

Asked what he wanted to do first after surgery, he said he wanted to wear lighter clothes this coming summer, and planned to commit to his weight training.

Asked what he would say to others facing the same concerns, he answered:

“If you allow yourself plenty of time before and after the surgery, I think you'll get an even better result.”

A decision made without haste, after ample comparison, only grows firmer with time. Trueman Gangnam will see that careful process through with you to the very end.
