If Scarring Is Your Biggest Worry,
Look at the Details
- Gangnam Branch -
One of the most-searched keywords among people considering this surgery is 'scars.'
Results can be hidden under clothing, but a scar is something you yourself face in the mirror every day, for life.
So today, borrowing the words of a recently operated patient's review, I would like to have
the most honest, realistic conversation about scars.
"I worried about scars and marks, but skin bond helped reduce them"
It was written right there in the review.
"I was worried about damage and marks left behind by scarring. But when I looked into it closely,
I found that these side effects could be reduced through careful scar management and skin bond."
Scarring is not just a matter of 'how small the incision is.' The choice of incision site, the suturing
method, and the finishing technique that covers it — only when these three work together does the result change.
The reason we use skin bond (surgical skin adhesive) together with micro-sutures is so that, even years
from now, you never find yourself standing at the mirror bothered by a mark.
It is a medical-grade adhesive that bonds the skin instead of stitches — reducing scarring, speeding up recovery, and
allowing a shower the very same day. Those 30 minutes in the operating room determine what your scar looks like 5 and 10 years from now.
"No moment really stuck with me" — and that is the best possible answer
There was one answer in the review that meant the most to me.
To the question, 'Was there any memorable moment during the surgery?', the patient's written answer
was a single line.
"Not really, no."
At first it may seem like a short answer, but that single line brought me the greatest relief. Surgery should not
be a time that leaves a strong impression on the patient. When neither the tension, nor the pain, nor any moment of alarm
can be clearly remembered, it means the anesthesia took hold properly, the operation proceeded
smoothly, and the recovery was stable. I believe the first condition of a good surgery is,
in the end, that the patient never needs to remember that time at all.
"The first thing I want to do after surgery:
build a great body through training and see it for myself"
I believe this single line from the review captures the true essence of the surgery.
Body contouring surgery is not an end in itself.
Only once the part you have long been hiding is resolved do the lines you can build through exercise begin to appear.
What we create is not the final result, but a starting line from which you can begin shaping your body again.
"The sooner, the better. Do it young and you recover faster"
This is the final line he left for others carrying the same concern.
"The sooner you do it, the better. Do it at a young age and you recover quickly!"
It is also medically accurate advice. The younger you are, the better your skin elasticity, the faster your
recovery, and the more cleanly any scar settles. Even with the same operation, the recovery curve in your
early thirties is clearly different from your late forties. If you are thinking 'maybe in a few years,' it is
worth pausing to consider that those few years can change the quality of your recovery.
The outcome of a surgery is not made in the operating room alone.
The precision of the consultation, the details that minimize scarring, stable anesthesia and recovery, and the timing of the decision.
All of these come together to change one person's daily life.
That short line the patient left us, "Not really, no."
Perhaps it is to receive that one line from my patients
that I sit in this consultation room every day.
Trueman Gangnam Branch will walk alongside you with the highest level of precision at every moment.
