"Building My Body"

There was someone who filled all six boxes of the review with two or three words each. The first box said they had worried the surgery might go wrong but it had ended without trouble, and the remaining boxes were even shorter.

A Short Answer Is Not a Light Answer

Some people write their worries at length, and some finish in one line. Length and the size of the worry are separate things. Opening the clinic door for gynecomastia is often itself a decision that took years, and that time is not written on the survey.

The worries that come up most before surgery are pain, scarring, shape, and a vague anxiety that something might go wrong. The first three can be narrowed down through the surgical plan and recovery guidance, but the last one does not disappear with explanation alone. Instead, I separate out in advance what is a normal course and what is a sign to come in for an earlier appointment.

Building My Body

In the box for what they most wanted to do after surgery, what this person wrote was four syllables.

"Building my body"

Gynecomastia surgery is not a substitute for exercise. Glandular tissue does not shrink with exercise or weight control, so people whose workouts never showed because of their chest lose motivation after a few years. Once that cause is dealt with, the effort put into exercise begins to show.

There is an order to resuming exercise. Light cardio comes first, and upper-body weight training is cleared last, based on the state of the wound and swelling. Do not judge it on your own; ask at your appointment and we will guide you according to your condition that day.

Some people ask whether losing a lot of weight won't make the chest smaller too. Fat decreases but glandular tissue remains, so there are cases where the chest shape stays the same even with a slim build. Checking that ratio by ultrasound tells you which applies to you.

Good If You Do It

In the words left for others with the same concern, they wrote this.

"Good if you do it,"

I have reproduced it as written, comma and all. This is this person's own experience, and depending on the grade and type of tissue, gynecomastia divides into cases where surgery is appropriate and cases where it is fine to monitor the course. Which applies can be decided after checking at an examination.

Nothing

In the last box, for what they wished from the clinic, they wrote this.

"Nothing."

I read it as meaning nothing more was needed. The shorter someone's answers, the longer the recovery guidance I tend to give. I hope they start their training plan without overdoing it.
