To Someone Scared Because It Was Their First Time
The first time you open a clinic's door, almost everyone hesitates for a moment.
The tension runs even higher for someone facing both surgery and sleep anesthesia for the very first time. “What if the anesthesia leaves my mind foggy?” “How frightening will it be, lying on the operating table?” — because you have never been through it, imagination alone is enough to inflate the fear.
Today, borrowing the story of a patient who recently had surgery with us, I would like to write a few words for that first-time fear.
