A Surgery You Only Do Once,
So I Looked for a Place That Does It Well

There is something patients about to have surgery often tell us: “Once it's done, there's no going back — so I want it done at a place that does it right.” That hesitation, born of caution, is something we always take seriously.

One patient who recently had surgery came to us with exactly that mindset, after carefully comparing several clinics. Here is the story he left in his review.

“There's no undoing it, so I wanted a place that does it well”

What concerned him most was the irreversibility of surgery. Since it cannot be undone once performed, he wanted to find the clinic that would do it best.

I welcome this kind of caution. A decision reached after thorough research and comparison is a decision the patient can stand behind with far greater confidence.

First Impression

The doctor came in himself, and we looked at the ultrasound together

What he singled out as the best part of his first visit was the ultrasound examination.

He wrote that it left a deep impression when the doctor came to the exam room in person and explained his condition while they looked at the images together. When you see the state of your own chest on the screen and hear it explained, a vague worry finally becomes a concrete, informed judgment. Never skipping that step is a principle we keep.

I closed my eyes, opened them, and it was over

Asked about his memory of the surgery itself, he said, “I closed my eyes, opened them, and it was over before I knew it — I don't remember a thing.”

It was a surgery he had deliberated over and searched for at length — yet the time on the operating table passed so uneventfully that it left no memory at all.

“Now I want to wear the clothes my body type never allowed”

Asked what he most wanted to do after surgery, he said, “To keep dieting, and finally wear the clothes I always wanted to wear but couldn't because of my body type.”

His message to those facing the same concern was resolute: “Stop deliberating — get a consultation and have the surgery now.” Coming from someone who decided only after weighing everything at length, the words carry extra weight. And at his parting remark — “thank you for making me a new man” — it was we who bowed our heads.
