Why Men's Clinics Perform the Most Gynecomastia Surgeries

When considering gynecomastia surgery, many people think of a plastic surgery clinic first. In recent years, however, a steadily growing number of patients have been choosing a men's clinic for gynecomastia treatment.

This shift is not simply about trends or marketing — it reflects how patients evaluate medical credibility and the care environment. Here is a look at why gynecomastia surgery is performed so actively at men's clinics.

1. Medical Staff Who Understand the Male Body

Gynecomastia is not merely a matter of appearance. In many cases, the cause is glandular tissue development that fat alone cannot explain — and in those cases, liposuction by itself will not solve the problem. When glandular tissue has developed abnormally, gland excision must be performed as well.

Drawing on clinical experience specialized in male anatomy, men's clinics accurately diagnose the distribution of glandular and fat tissue and clearly explain the scope of surgery each patient needs. Their experience and technical skill are also an advantage when a combined approach is required, such as nipple reduction, simultaneous accessory breast removal, or skin tightening.

2. Sensitive Care, a Comfortable Environment

Gynecomastia is a sensitive condition that can go beyond physical discomfort, leading to psychological withdrawal, avoidance of social relationships, and low self-esteem. When visiting a clinic for this kind of care, a typical hospital environment with predominantly female staff can feel uncomfortable.

Doctor Consultation

By contrast, an environment where consultation and recovery rooms are run exclusively for men, or where dedicated medical staff understand and accommodate male patients' feelings, helps reduce unnecessary tension. In fact, clinical studies have reported that a patient's psychological stability before surgery can have a positive effect on recovery speed, pain sensitivity, and overall satisfaction.

Particularly in surgeries related to appearance or aesthetic correction, higher psychological tension can also increase the likelihood of dissatisfaction with the results. For sensitive procedures like gynecomastia surgery, the psychological comfort of the care environment is therefore an important factor.

3. Differences in Clinical Experience and Surgical Systems

Men's clinics have treated gynecomastia not as a one-off procedure but as an ongoing field of everyday practice. As a result, they have accumulated a wealth of surgical cases, experience, and refined care workflows.

For example, the entire process — surgical planning based on the Simon classification, ultrasound confirmation of glandular tissue, assessment of insurance eligibility, and complication prevention during recovery — is standardized from before surgery through follow-up, giving patients a predictable course of treatment. If a clinic also has the clinical experience and judgment to respond flexibly to each patient's body type, skin elasticity, and emotional state, it is a choice well worth trusting.

Gynecomastia surgery is not simple. It is a medical procedure that requires accurate diagnosis and delicate surgical technique, taking both physical health and psychological well-being into account.

When choosing a clinic, we recommend carefully checking whether it has extensive experience with gynecomastia and whether it offers a comfortable care environment designed for male patients.
