"It's Good Not to Have to Wear an Extra Layer Anymore"

People who come for gynecomastia these days have already done a lot of searching before they arrive. They know the name of the surgery and roughly how long recovery takes. The problem is that along the way they also end up reading posts that collect only cases of side effects.

That is where the worry this person wrote before surgery came from.

"I heard on the internet that there are side effects, but after having the surgery there were none"

Between What You Read and What You Will Go Through

Of the posts left online, there are more from cases that did not go smoothly than from those that did. When there is no discomfort, people do not bother to write. So information built up from searching leans toward worry compared with the actual frequency.

Still, I do not tell people there are no side effects. Things that can occur in gynecomastia surgery include blood collecting, fluid accumulating, sensation being dulled for a while, and the two sides looking different; even if the frequency is low, the possibility itself does not disappear. Before surgery I go through this list as it is, and explain how each is handled if it happens. This person got through without any of them.

The First Day at the Clinic

In the box asking about the clinic's atmosphere, they wrote just one word: nervous. For most people, coming to a clinic for gynecomastia is a first, and they come knowing they will have to lift their shirt in the consultation room. The reason we keep the waiting area and the path through the clinic separate is to shorten that time. I often hear that because all the staff at the Incheon branch are men, people do not need to worry about that part.

The Layer Worn Underneath

As what they wanted to do after surgery, they wrote this.

"It's good not to have to wear an extra T-shirt under my clothes anymore"

Wearing one more layer under a shirt or under short sleeves is a method people with gynecomastia have used for a long time. Keep that habit for years and it becomes as if it were your natural taste. What surgery changes is usually this kind of thing. The time to stop wearing that extra layer is set for after the wound has healed and compression garment wear has ended.

The Answer "Definitely Do It"

In the words left for others with the same concern, they wrote briefly.

"Definitely do it"

They said this about the result they themselves experienced. Gynecomastia divides by degree and type of tissue into cases where surgery is appropriate and cases where monitoring is fine, so whether to have surgery is something to decide after your own condition is confirmed at an examination.

The review ended in three sentences, but the order was clear.
